Hey! My name is Kate and I am so glad you are here!
My name is Kate Battersby and I am the owner of Ivory and Oaks. I am first and foremost a wife and stay at home mama to my three amazing kiddos. We live in the PNW and love spending time as a family enjoying the outdoors in any way we can. In the Summer you'll find us hiking and camping every chance we get!
I have always been a creative person and I love expressing myself through my creativity. I picked up polymer clay in 2021 on a whim after seeing a friend with clay earrings on. I figured it would be a great hobby and creative outlet. And things quickly got out of hand! Haha
I ran to Michaels and bought some clay and tools to get started. I instantly became obsessed with watching all the videos on Instagram and of clay artists making beautiful earrings. I started making sets for myself, experimenting with techniques and tricks that I had learned from research and videos. It quickly escalated from making personal sets, to my friends and family buying them all up. What I thought would just be a fun hobby and creative outlet was quickly becoming a little side business which was hard not to get excited about!
I started making earrings every chance I got.
And I learned everything along the way.
It has been 2 years of learning and growing and I have loved every bit of it. From growing my business, to meeting fellow business owners, doing markets and perfecting my knowledge and skills. Thank you for being here and supporting me! It has been such a fun ride. I can't wait to see what 2023 brings.
